3.55 to Rogero 4.21 Guide

This guide will show you how to upgrade from any 3.55-based CFW (Kmeaw etc.) to Rogero's 4.21 CFW.

Prerequisites
- A PS3 on a 3.55-based CFW or less.
- Official 3.55 Update PUP
- Rogero's CFW 1.09d (Mirror)
IMPORTANT: REMOVE ANY DISC FROM THE DRIVE BEFORE PROCEEDING OR THIS WILL NOT WORK
Install Instructions
Revert to 3.55 OFW
- First we will revert to the 3.55 Official Firmware
- Copy the 3.55 PS3UPDAT.PUP to an external drive in the /PS3/UPDATE/ folder.
- Connect the external drive to your PS3.
- Boot into recovery mode by doing the following:
- Access the PS3 recovery menu by doing the following:
- Make sure the PS3 is turned off,
- Press and hold the power button on the PS3 it will power on then power off.
- When it's off press and hold the power button again until you hear two consecutive beeps.
- It will ask for the controller to be connected via the USB cable,
- Turn on the controller via the PS button and you will have access to the menu.
- Now Select System Update
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install 3.55 OFW.
- After your PS3 reboots check in the system information to ensure you are on 3.55.
Install Rogero 4.21 CFW
- Extract Rogero_CEX4.21_v1.09d.PUP to an external drive in the /PS3/UPDATE/ folder.
- Rename Rogero_CEX4.21_v1.09d.PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP
- Boot into recovery mode by doing the following:
- Access the PS3 recovery menu by doing the following:
- Make sure the PS3 is turned off,
- Press and hold the power button on the PS3 it will power on then power off.
- When it's off press and hold the power button again until you hear two consecutive beeps.
- It will ask for the controller to be connected via the USB cable,
- Turn on the controller via the PS button and you will have access to the menu.
- Now Select System Update
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install 4.21 CFW.
- After your PS3 reboots check in the system information to ensure you are on 4.21.
